Red brick at the Baltic Sea

We are delighted to have won the "Waterkant Kiel" competition. A necessary upgrading is now taking place in a central location of the Baltic city. In the area of the Germaniahafen on the Kiel Fjord, 294 flats with shops on the ground floor are being built for the developer "Baum meravis Waterkant Immobilien GmbH" on an area of around 7,500 square metres. Baumschlager Eberle Architekten (Berlin office) have developed an open perimeter block development on two building plots, opening up the courtyards to the south and west. Slanted loggias for a better sea-view, urban arcades, the typical red brick and a solitaire at the corner situation give the new quarter its significant appearance and identity in the cityscape. The architecture convinces with the rhythm of the façades, which reflects the proximity to the sea.
